What is Allegra?
Allegra utilizes the drug Fexofenadine to relieve allergy symptoms associated with hay fever. Allegra, when administered, fights the following symptoms: runny nose; red, itchy or watery eyes; itching of the throat, nose or roof of the mouth and rashes. Allegra, which is sold in grocery, drug, mass merchandiser and club stores throughout the country, can be taken by children (2 or older) and adults. All Allegra formulations and indications have transition from a prescription to over-the-counter medium; however, for children six months to sex years old with hives the United States Food and Drug Administration requires a formal prescription from a licensed doctor. A prescription is required for all over the counter antihistamines to ensure a physician consultation occurs. The pharmacist, upon receipt of the prescription, will fill it out with OTC Children’s Allegra Oral Suspension as the prescribed Children’s Allegra Oral medication is no longer available.
Allegra Dosage Information:
Allegra comes in a variety of formulations; a user’s corresponding Allegra dosage is dependent on the formula taken. The following Allegra dosage is currently available without the need of a formal prescription:
• Allegra dosage: Allegra Allergy 24 and 12 hour tablets for adults 12 years and older
• Allegra dose: Children’s Allegra 12 hour pills for children 6 years of age and older
• Allegra dosage: Children’s Allegra 12 hour, which is an orally disintegrating tablet for children 6 years of age and older
• Allegra dosage: Children’s Allegra 12 Hour Oral Suspension for youth’s 2 years of age and older
• Allegra dose: Allegra-D-24 and 12-Hour Extended-Release Tablets offered to adults 12 years of age and older
Allegra Dose: Count Sizes
The following Allegra dosage count sizes are made available to those in need (note: the Allegra dosage levels vary according to the different Allegra formulations):
• Allegra Dosage: Allegra Allergy 24-hour: 5, 15, 30, 45, 70 or 90 count
• Allegra Dosage: Allegra Allergy 12 Hour: 12 count
• Allegra Dosage: Allegra D 24 Hour: 5, 10 or 15 counts
• Allegra Dose: Allegra-D 24 Hour: 5, 10 or 15 counts
• Allegra Dose: Allegra-D 12 Hour: 10, 20 or 30 counts
• Allegra Dose: Children’s Allegra Tablets: 6 counts
• Allegra Dosage: Children’s Allegra disintegrating tablets: 12 count
• Allegra Dose: Children’s Allegra oral Suspension: 4 ounce liquid oral suspension
